What We’ll Miss Most About Our Home
Hello Prospective Buyers! Welcome to our special home. Selling this home is very bittersweet for us. We truly loved living here. We hope you are able to feel the magic that we did as we spent our time in this safe and happy place. Here’s what we’ll miss most about living here and what you will likely love about it as well.
First off, the backyard was one of our favorite things about this home. It had a lot of work put into it, and was definitely the biggest pull for us to buy the home in the first place. We hosted many indoor/outdoor parties, had family basketball games and created lots of cherished memories here. When we needed a break from the world, we could easily find peace by chilling in the hammock and listening to the birds sing. We also found a lot of joy gardening and harvesting the crops that we planted. Last fall we even had over 200 pumpkins grow. Yes, you read that correctly! We had so much fun adorning our large front porch and sharing our spoils with friends, family and neighbors. On top of the goodies we were able to enjoy from the garden, the many flower beds gave us lots of gorgeous color from poppies, hydrangeas, peonies, roses, snapdragons, crocuses and tulips. Each spring was so exciting to see new life bloom again in our own space. We also spent many summer nights sitting on the front porch watching the sunset paint the mountains pink. Incredible!
The neighborhood is fantastic. Not only does it have everything you could need within walking distance, but there are also so many great events happening throughout the year like barbecues and walkabouts. One thing our younger kids enjoyed doing was going on morning “animal walks” to see the closeby cows, horses, goats and sheep. It always felt like a happy middle ground between being in the country and being in the heart of the city. We often would go eat dinner around the corner at East Moon Sushi and get Lehi Bakery’s famous square donuts on Saturday mornings. We will absolutely miss being so close to a grocery store where we could send our kids over when we needed something quick. It doesn’t get any more convenient. We also had memberships to the Lehi Rec Center down the street. Our kids loved swimming there on hot summer days with all of their friends who also lived closeby.
We loved that the kitchen was tucked away in the main living area but that it still had an open-concept flow to it. We liked being able to answer the door and have guests without panicking about dirty dishes. Cooking in this spacious kitchen made preparing meals more enjoyable. The stove is a dual fuel range which uses both gas and electricity making it easier to prepare meals quickly on the stove top and more efficiently inside the oven. The owners before us also had a mixer lift installed in the cabinets so our heavy KitchenAid mixer could be easily pulled out and put away.
The primary suite was a lovely little oasis for us. We loved the vaulted ceilings and bright big windows. Our house plants were always thriving because of how much natural light would shine through. On occasion we would have a movie night in the giant tub when mom and dad needed to unwind. Another surprise that I found out after moving in and fell in love with, was the metal lined drawer for my curling irons. I didn’t have to worry about clutter or little fingers grabbing my hot tools on the counter.
The basement was a great part of the home where we could send kids to play and they would get lost for hours in their imaginations. One of their favorite things to do was transform it into a spook alley and have us walk through it. HOURS of enjoyment and entertainment. We also turned the “crawl space” into a catch all for their toys so they could be contained to one area of the house. We recently also had a radon mitigation system installed into this part of the home, so any future owners could rest easy that the home is safe and healthy.
We hope you see how special this home is. It has been really good to us. We shared a lot of wonderful memories here that we will take with us in our new adventure. Best of luck to you in this unique housing market!
